balibreeze on our last trip last year spent mostly in Seminyak and Kuta bag serches were common most of the larger department store stopped people and did bag serches and a lot of the hotels. Nearly all the major hotels have car check points.We were staying at The Villas and our bags were searched as we came back in from shopping etc although after a couple of days they started to recognise us and let us pass. Taxi were not allowed on the property and every car and bus was serached at the check point. Also had bags searched and body search going into KudeTa Restaurant and Hu'u Bar. The body search at Hu'u Bar was so good ten minutes later we left and got back in the line to enter again (lol). Figured the bag search's etc were in our own interest and treated them acordingly. Also noticed at a lot of the better restaurants cars and bikes trying to park out the front were moved on by security.
