I've been going to Troppo since 1995, Sure things changed after the bombings and it really died off sadly, it used to be the most amazing place when it was going off, you'd have the best time ever, meeting people from all over Australia and the world, and hey, you still do, I have made alot of great friends from Canada, USA, Japan, Latvia, France, all in the last two years of going there.
Grumpy who works there, is a great guy and will always try to make you experiance all that Bali has to offer, he is incredibly knowledgable, funny, and very cheeky. But he'll look out for you and give you the best holiday he can. He is a good friend and I look forward to seeing him again in April. Besides that, the rooms are basic (but when are you in them?) The pool is lovely, and a great place to socialize, get a massage, read a book, or enjoy many lazy afternoon Bintangs dangling your feet in the pool.

It's close to most things, and by most things I mean nightclubs and bars. Kuta Square is a pleasent walk from there, Poppies 2 is literally across the road, always easy to get transport from the memorial, And it's cheap. I love the place, and every time I think about staying somewhere else, I just can't do it. I know other places are nicer, but for what I want, it's perfect. Somewhere to sleep, have a shower, and enjoy ice cold air con, meet new people, and have a great laugh.

I would recommend it to anyone young, young at heart, who don't take themselves too seriously.

Have a great holiday.
