I have a ANZ Visa Card but I find it expensive and it limits points you are able to earn per month, offers at 1 point per dollar. I use it as a backup and mostly use my Amex. I got one of American Express's offers a few years ago (they always have them) and got their Maximiser card - 1.5 points per dollar spent, no limit and no annual fee for first year. Anyway, I find they always make you an offer towards the end of the year or you just tell them you wish to cancel the card and they will make you an offer. I have never paid an annual fee and at the moment I have an Ultimate Card. The Ultimate offered no annual fee for the first year, 30,000 points after sign up and first spend, 1 domestic flight per year and 1.5 points per dollar spent ... not bad I feel. I find I can use my Amex in most places .. restaurants are more difficult and certainly I wouldn't expect many places in Bali to accept it.
