Yes I agree about noise taxes etc but these imposts will have to be paid by anyone transiting through sydney whether from New zealand or Australia.
My point is that a large part of the "taxes" charged by the airlines is in fact a fuel surcharge which should be incorporated into the "fare charged" and not discounted before comparing todays prices to x amount of years ago as Les is suggesting people shpuld do.
