the exercise last week using a travel agent. Booking direct with the hotel and just air fares (it was business class)it was $300 dearer than using a travel agent for the full package. (14 days).Tried splitting the package (7 days) and direct with the hotel (7 days) and still worked out dearer direct with the hotel. The reason is even though I got a better hotel rate going direct, because the packages were pay 5 days and stay 7 it worked out cheaper overall for the package. The hotel is a 4* so I guess the savings could have been higher. Hope this helps
