Shopping-
Animale. I bought 2 dresses a pair of pants and a top. They mostly had size 2. With all the posts about where to get bigger size clothes they seem to have run out. I was looking at a rack of clothes when 4 staff were giggling at me looking at the size 2. (I understand and speak some Indonesian but I'm far from fluent)
I didn't realize they only had size 2. I've put on a bit of weight since last year but was a size 2 in dresses. Larger in pants. Anyway I found some 3's and tried them on. Guess what- too big. So I said in Indonesian See size 2 and told them they should be careful as some foreigners speak Indonesian. You should have seen their jaws drop. Haha. I had to laugh.
Toko Central. I wasn't in the mood so just bought a few frangipani hair clips (you know the ones that are everywhere now.
Fairy dresses in Poppies 1. Cheap ones for 25.000, really nice ones for 50.000. Didn't have to bargain. Covex's shop. Nearly opposite Masa Inn.
I wanted some Pashminas but had difficulty. I bought them at Candi Kuning Market last time. They had some at Geneva and couple at Tootsies in Sanur. I only bought one. I wanted plain, not the stripe ones.
I bought loads of baby and toddler clothes for the grandkids. I was disappointed with Ramayana and Matahari in Denpasar but bought some nice stuff. I got some good shoes and some cheap ones that were 60% (50%+20%) off at Matahari. Only $3. Bargain. I also got a few cheap short sets ($2) at Supa Nova.
I like the new dresses with the triangle top. Unfortunately they didn't fit me. The normal size was too tight in the boobs. The larger ones (at Ketut's) were loose under the boobs. Oh well. Bought one of the new elastic top ones plus a top similar.
If you have been going to Bali forever you will remember the sleeveless tops with a bamboo print on the front and Bali written on the back. Well they are back. They are pretty thin material. I bought 2 long ones to wear as nighties. 25.000rp.
As I hadn't been for a year I had to buy lots of shoes. The good ones aren't big enough. Most stop at 40. But I bought quite a few of the cheap ones. I also stocked up on moisturizers etc.
They had the Olay total effects for $11. I didn't know if that was good until I got home and saw it in Kmart for $26.
At Geneva I bought 20 little incense packs ( I give them to the parent helpers in my classroom) and little things for the kids in my class (bangles, cats, keyrings etc). I also got 2 small paintings for $3 each.
On the last day I bought 3 handbags. Medium to large D&G 80.000 - 120.000. Very nice. Birthday presents for the girls.
Bought a few necklaces. Stalls near end of Poppies offer 10.000 and 7.000 for all types. Nothing new from previous years. But if you don't have any saves bargaining.
