hey there "peace at last".this is definately a very worthy cause and to get in touch with "smudge"when you arrive and he will be only to pleased to come to your hotel and relieve you of your donations of whatever.he truly is an amazing man and has taken on an amazing task up there in the mountains.i was very fortunate to spend a day with smudge, his family, and his team of helpers last year on a visit to some of the villages concerned on the mountain in the Munti region, and assisted in the distribution of those donations. What a day it was--long, hot, and thirsty work. But oh so much satisfaction to be able to see first hand what all our help of large or small donations are making to these oh such happy people. The word travels fast when "smudge" is on the mountain and the villagers and their children assemble, ready for that welcome.Their eyes light up and your eyes weep believe me.On our arrival all those needing medical assessment queued up to see the nurse and get their medications whether it be a tablet or plaster etc.,then the food and clothing that we took up,was placed in one of the rooms in the village for distribution later by the elders. All concerned then quenched our thirsts with a cold drink from our esky. This was followed by a real tear jerker, all those dark glassy eyes looking at you in wonder, when all the kids lined up for the distribution of their bag of goodies,or prezzies as we would say.Could be a bag with a pencil, book, some lollies,a soft toy,a Maccas happy meal gift or whatever, had been prepact by "smudge" and his team prior to the visit. So however or whatever you wish to donate, please do so and you will be rewarded ten fold.
