My hubby and I purchased a laptop from the Airport in Singapore last year and we thought that we got a great price - did some homework before we left. We had a few days in Singapore on our way to London, but we found that shopping in central singapore was a real hassle and not that cheap - at the end of the day we brought it duty free at the airport and that way we at least knew it would be kosha if you know what I mean.
On a side note the airport is fantastic - not sure if you have a long layover there but you can rent a room by the hour at their hotel which is in the actual airport - no need to exit through customs either. The is also a great pool and spa, plus a bar attached and its not expensive either considering the benefits - from memory I think we paid about 13AUD and hour for it.
So anyway out all the aiports I have been to around the world Singers would have to rate the best and for my mind the duty free shopping is very reasonable as well.
