No need to arrange US dollars and pay commission to bank etc. I have paid in Australian dollars on my last 8 visits, entering both through Denpasar and Jakarta with no problem. If you give around $30 - $40
Australian you will have more than enough to cover the VOA and will receive rupiah in change.

The exchange rate at the airport will be slightly less than out on the street, so you may pay a bit above $25 US, but still cheaper than buying the US dollars in Australia, and you have some local currency to start off with.

There is no hold up if you pay in Australian dollars, except the time it takes them to give you your change!
