not really worth it, especially now that they have changed the rewards. I now have silver GFF and until February I could get an extra 10kgs allowance but as of Feb has now changed to only 5 kgs extra. The same iwth an upgrade to BC, was 5000 will now be 8000. I was trying to upgrade for my next trip but as the flights from Perth only have 12 BC seats it is impossible. You have to pay for economy first then get the paperwork to apply for the upgrade and then it is up to the airline, but as I said there are never any seats available. I asked iif a seat was not available on the flight I requested could I change the date, yes at a cost of $100.00. Enough said. After my next flight I should have enough for at least 1 way economy, so I will see what happens then. As it is, it is near impossible to get the flights you want out of Perth, paying for them, let alone with GFF. But hey, as you said it costs nothing. You can join up on the garuda indonesia website.
