Get an ANZ travel card, it has an annual fee of around $10 bucks, you get two cards, you need to sign both, but they do not have any names on them. You can then send one to your friend. You select the pin numbers and can also change them at any time online. The cards are not connected to your bank accounts in any way and have their own internet banking system to view balances and transactions history. To deposit money in, you use bpay, once you can see the funds are in, contact your friend and they can use an atm machine, think the cost per withdrawal is $3.50.
