my friend and I were lucky, we flew Qantas the whole way. The flight from Bali arrived on time, but there was a delay with our luggage and we had a 40 minute wait until it started to came through, and then the Garuda flight from Bali arrived. so there were 2 planes full of People needing to go through customs. Woot!! I heard a few other people say they were going to miss the same flight. So I went and spoke to someone at the information desk and explained what was going on. They checked how many people there were on the connecting flight. It was almost 30 people. So they held the flight. The plane ended up leaving almost 30 minutes late!
I spoke to some other friends who had been to Bali, and both of them have missed their connecting flight because of customs. One of them came back just after Christmas and couldn't get on another flight for 2 days because all the planes were full!
If you don't buy anything that needs declaring u should be fine.
