It is not only customs that takes the time but also immigration. The time taken will depend on how many other flights are landing, or have landed, around the same time. I have arrived back in Perth and it has taken absolutely ages to get through immigration (similar to Bali)and then customs was even worse. Conversely I arrived back mid November, no other planes, and zipped straight through everything. No holdups anywhere and I had to pick up pre paid duty free and had things to declare. Go figure. I don't know how the airport shuttle works but taxis can be hard to get. I would be contacting my travel agent.
