Interesting that you had that experience with Garuda Flossie as ours has been quite the opposite. We have always flown Garuda biz to Bali and even though we check-in together, every time they have weighed our luggage seperately and viewed it as a single entity. I've never really taken any notice of what my luggage weight has been and with one exception there's never been an issue. However on one occassion we were asked to rebalance the load between our two cases. It wasn't really an issue as there was no long queue backing up behind us...although trying to guess what equals 5 kilos in clothes is not an easy thing. I actually wondered about the why-for of the whole thing because I'd barely gotten the two cases open when the check-in person said "good, good" and waved me on - I had barely moved three T-shirts and a samll book! I guess it's a case of being seen to be vigilant. Good ol Bali!
