We arrived 4 Jan, weather was a little wet but pleasant, arrived at our hotel, Kuta Lagoon Resort which is lovely, the staff are great, very young but can't do enough to help you. Breakfast is really good but we haven't eating here for lunch or dinner.
Its very quiet on the streets which is apparent by the desperation of the street sellers, some are almost dragging people into their stores.
Visited the Bali Zoo which is fantastic, the animals are so close you can almost touch them. Went to the monkey forest in Ubud which was great fun my wife had found herself a new friend with one monkey taking a liking to her beaded bracelet which I think he thought were nuts, well this monkey would not get off her, when you tried to get him off he would just run over her back to the other arm and then back again, in the end he just sat on my wifes back, I was laughing so hard (wife was saying "its not funny, get him off" but I couldn't stop laughing).
Off to the Safari Park in a couple of days so we are looking forward to that. Exchange rate has been good between 8125 and 8350 so far.
Just a quick note to all BTF members, thanks for all the advice prior to arriving it has been a great source for us.
