I took my daughter who is 7 last year and we stayed in 3 areas. South Kuta at the Dynasty, the Jayakarta in Legion and then over to sanuar. I personally loved the Dynasty and how close it was to everything. A really good variety of restaurants and easy access to waterbom, centro etc where there is a kids game centre on the top floor. I didnt like the Jayakarta at all while all the comments I had read on the forum raved about Jayakarta as a family hotel I found there were virtually no other kids there and the food etc was very expensive which meant we had to go out most nights for dinner. The room we were initially placed in was so small there was nowhere to put your bags so we ended up upgrading at additional cost to a suite above the reception area which was very old. It was also a fair way from anything compared to the number of places that were very close to south kuta. Even the local restaurants were a bit of a hike for a young kid. I used to love the legion area and have always stayed there until last time. I was very impressed with the area around the Dynasty. Of course this is my persnal opion and its different for everyone I wanted to have easy access to things like shopping and entertainment for my daughter because is she was occupied I wasnt being hassled.
