Hi Jacinta. We took our 6 and 8 year old last year to Candi Beach Cottages for 5 days last year and they absolutely loved it. We are going back in June for another 7. There is so much to see and do that is close to Candi Dasa that our kids never got time to get bored and basically just loved playing in the pool. We took them up to Amed and they are hanging out to go back and do more snorkelling this year as they can do it just off the beach in not very deep water. We also found it nice to spend time with them without all those other distractions that other parts of Bali (ie Kuta etc) offers. My 8 year old especially liked trying all the seafood in the area especially the Mahi Mahi and some king prawns we had at the Lagoon View Restaurant (I think that was what it was called). It was right next to the lagoon, looking over it. Beautiful view. I hope your family enjoys it as much as mine did.
