We have stayed at Padma before (no kids) & I found it a little out of the way, other end of Legian, but many would prob not agree with me. More recently we have stayed at the Dynasty a couple of times & Bali Hai both of which are in Tuban. I have just booked for June and am trying the BGH after reading recommendations on BTF. Wanted something a little cheaper as we are taking the whole family.
I like Tuban but why?? Hmmmm, a little less busy than further along I think. I like the choice of restaurants around here. Febri's has a great restaurant, very reasonably priced that was great with the kids. (We have 3 x boys: 2,4,14) Waterbom is across the road, havent actually been before but intend to once or twice this time. I like that Centro Discovery Shopping Mall is right here for coffee or Breadtalk - something the kids will always eat! Also close to the airport.
Febri's/green garden owned by same people and we used the spa at Febri's which was very reasonably priced. As mentioned to me previously on BTF though was that rooms are very large BUT the pool area is pretty much all concrete and really not much shade around it which is why I avoided it with the kids but this may have changed.
