Might get flamed on this but....do a search on the archives on a storey Putu Les wrote about OzJet in which he questions the wisdom of flying such old planes (Normally banned from Indonesia).
A few weeks ago the Australian ran a story where an OzJet plane from Brisbane to Norfolk Island lost part of a wing. Passengers were made to put on their life vests and the plane made an emergency landing in Noumea.
People always criticise Garuda but in many, many flights with them I have never had that type of scare - Even flown Air Paradise, Merpati and Sampati to our favourite Island. Closest I ever came was a go around at Perth with Sampati
Don't get me wrong - we need competition on the Perth Bali run but let's be careful and not get to carried away with a few dollars
