to call into the bar for a beer. Because of the wonderful location it has become a very popular gathering place for the expat crew. Most evenings a gang of my friends gather there. It is a great opportunity to learn many things about this beautiful island.
One of the dive operators may be there, one or two hotel owners may be there, the furniture exporter may be there, the guy who exports stone products may be there, the chap who builds private villas may turn up, the crew who have retired here may wander in.
The guy who works building boats could possibly meander in. The guy who operates surfing tours may just drop in. Other long term tourists will possibly turn up. There is a great possibility of meeting someone. Australian sporting identities often call through.
On the down side is the fact that I will also be more than likely to turn up as well.
