Cottages are on main drag (JL Legian) and pool is situated adjacent to resturant area, and away from rooms. I have never stayed there but friends who have soon transfered to hotel, saying that the rooms all over looked each other and didnt feel private.
Hotel is about 100m away, out the back gate of cottages (so access to JL Legian is quickest this way) it is at the end of a lane that runs off the lane (JL Benesari) that runs behind cottages (whew, did you follow that!!!!.
It is surrounded on 2 sides by cow paddocks, so is nice and quiet.
Some rooms (3 levels) are situated down one side of pool, the rest are in attractive 'blocks' situated around a pond area.
We find the hotel more 'attractive', - have you been to their website? that might help you decide.
