they will find their way into enclosed areas.
Balinese (or typically Asian) places are pretty open in nature and design, so there's not too much to stop them.
Of course there are many scrawny looking cats around, but I suspect that the rats may be a bit of a "pawfull" for them!!
The offerings that are put out are also a great source of nourishment for Dogs, Cats, sparrows, rats, mice and everything else.
All adds to the "flavour"!!
Has anyone asked for a rat to be eliminated from a room, only to wake in the morning to find a struggling creature stuck to a piece of cardboard covered with a brown sticky stuff (Molases??)
Once in Phuket, I had one such and they wouldn't come to collect it.
I said "Fine....I'll drop it off at reception around customer check in time" It was gone within the minute!!
