We went over with kids in 05 and stayed at Bali HAi, friends at same time stayed at Dynasty so we go to spend time there. It is a very busy hotel and we found the pool crowded and not very relaxing compared to the Bali Hai and just recently the Jayakarta. The kids pool is very deep (may just be the slide end, I did not go up the other end but 4 year old couldn't touch) so if your children are very young you may want to consider that. There may be others who could clarify that who have spent more time than I. Our friends loved the Kids Club, there were lots of different activities from cooking to painting that all the kids loved and the staff are supposed to be wonderful. The kiddy suites we found (as they were the same in Bali Hai) were great for children our kids age (4 & 6) with bunk beds and Play station in room so we could sleep in and kids would be occupied with games we just bought. From memory those rooms had a terrace with chairs outside. The rooms aren't huge, but really you only sleep in there! The one great thing my kids enjoyed visiting there was going on a Frog hunt. There are lots of frogs that come out at night and the kids could catch them and hold them, so hope you don't have probs with amphibians!

What it comes down to is whether you would rather chill out, or whether you want to be social and meet a lot of other Aussies from all over the place. For us we would rather chill out as we felt very crowded and concerned about kids getting knocked about in the main pool where we were. But for our friends, they found our hotel too quiet!
