We sat on a pool lounge only 1 meter from our balcony railing well within earshot and could hear a cry but also using the monitor I could even hear my baby make noises and movement in the cot so half the time I was back over the balcony and to the cot before a cry was ever heard. Last trip there was only me hubby and bub, it was nice to sit "together" poolside while bub took a nap rather than playing poolside tag team with one in the room and one by the pool. besides bub was comfortable out of the sun and the heat and in the airconditioning. Take advantage of technology I say.
