These have all been mentioned here b 4 but just to reitrate, when you pay for your Visa make sure that the number of days on it coincide with what you have paid for. A bit of a drama if they stamp it for 7 days and you have paid and are staying for more days than this.
When the Visa man asks for a donation tell him you will give it to someone who doesn't have a job.
If you want to carry your own bags then do so, otherwise a porter will carry your bag to a car for a couple of dollars a bag.
If you only have 1 litre or 1.125litres of Alchohol per person you are in your limit to bring into Indonesia without having to pay a bribe. If however you are asked for something that doesn't seem right then you are in your rights to ask to see a Supervisor.
