My losmen in Jalan Pantai Kuta, had no fridge, no AC, no fan, no western toilet (only squat type) no hot water, no pool,breakfast was an old thermos with jasmine tea with a banana or jam jaffle.
I paid Rp1,500 a night. A fan was Rp1,500 extra.
This was in 1979 of course.
Good to see some things haven't changed.
The losmen is still there , now a small hotel catering for local tourists. The room I stayed in is now a room for the 'sopir'(drivers)
