Private businesse can pay as they decide. In fact, the 17 y.o. pembantu (maid) next door is paid Rp 200.000 per month (plus lodgings (sofa in the family room) and meals) to cook, clean, wash, iron and look after a 2.5 year old (pobably autistic) boy 12hours a day - 7 days a week.
So very hard to say how much anyone earns as an employee (guide - husband and wife friends with a new baby were paid Rp 1.100.000/month combined up to last week. Don't know if they have a pay-rise yet but the Bintangs have gone up by Rp 3.000 already.
