My daughter has the same problem ,make sure it is in the box it came in, so it clearly states her name. I always tell customs what she is carrying and never had a problem.
Eating out used to bother me a bit , but i had a friend make a card explaining my daughter has a severe allergy to peanuts and to make sure no peanuts are in the food.
This card I just put on the table for the waiter to read.
Have A great holiday, we are going again in a couple of weeks, cannot wait.
