A lot of people suggest the Dynasty, and it really is set up for families and has a great kids club and a pool with a slide and kids rooms that the kids sleeping area separate from parents to give you a little privacy. We found it to be very busy and not very relaxing compared with other places we have stayed. The kids pool is separated from the main pool area, is quite deep and there is not a lot of chairs/beds to sit on and the main pool was so busy and crowded I didn't feel safe having the kids swim if I wasn't in the water with them. This was in 2005 when Bali was reasonably quiet, so not sure what it would be like now. We stayed at Jayakarta last year and will be going back this year (not during school holidays) and found it to be wonderful for the kids. There were some other families so the kids could swim and you could be social but it was not crowded and you could get a chair. There is a kids pool plus three other pools and it is right on the beach. The only problem is that the kids club is nowhere near as good as Dynasty. We don't use it a lot anyway so it's no big deal to us. You can get a 2 bedroom apartment so you can set up a cot and have a bed for your 7 year old and you still have some room.
It really depends on what you want for your holiday, if you are very social and want a great kids club Dynasty is the go, otherwise if you want something a bit more quiet and relaxing have a look at Jayakarta. Enjoy!
