I agree with what was said apart from the loss of Balinese culture.
From Dutch scholars and civil servants to European artists like Walter Spies to the relatively recent influx of tourists, the Balinese have had to discuss and demonstrate their culture, art and religion. Sustained referrals to them raises the consciousness of a unique identity and reinforces ownership.
I doubt whether the Balinese or the Indonesian government would want to abandon such rich history, heritage or way of life.
