Nicks Baliblog (he lives in Bali) mentioned he had GPS, check him out. It will depend on the device you purchase as to whether you can get Bali maps from them. You just go onto their site and purchase what maps you want.
My GPS uses whereis.com, I think Tomtom has it's own, as do a few others. Check before you buy if important.
If you buy hardware here, you can claim the GST component back at the airport as long as purchase over $300 and on one receipt (can be multiple items though)
