In Bali, many times we've walked for miles, sweating etc and never once have we had to swat flies away.
Yet, you daren't carry bags of shopping in two hands to the car because the flies would drive you nuts.
Also, we have eaten outside in Bali and never had a problem - in Perth you'd have a mouthfull of flies at any bbq.
