We went to Taro Elephant Park in August and absolutely loved it. We left from Legian about 9am I think and went straight up. It was a bit drizzly but beautiful as all the vegetation was brilliant green. We went on the ride then watched the "SHOW" (not on every day) Then back to Cafe Wayan in Ubud for lunch. In all my trips to Bali this would rate as one of the best. Great day out esp to see the mountains and a bit of Ubud. There would have been time for the Monkey Forest walk as well but we didnt do this as hubby had a bit of the dreaded bali belly.
The other parks are cheaper I believe but this park is spotless and you can see that the elephants are very well cared for. Forgot to say that there is a restaurant there overlooking the park.
