For the last four years we have included a one week stay in Ubud during our holiday to tis wonderful island of smiles. For us Ubud is relatively quiet, providing plenty of shopping (well, at least for our humble needs), opportunites to see the Balinese people in activities such as, children in school, transport and delivery of a huge variety of goods, village life, rural life with farming folk cultivating and harvesting from the land, duck herders leading their flocks. Restaurants are in abundance and to suit most peoples pockets and taste buds. Ubud is also relatively central for travelling to many other areas of interest. Although we could very easily spent a week in Ubud without travelling by car for more than one hour in any direction, possibly less.
Now I am begining to wonder if we should spend all of our holiday in Ubud and possibly one other location other than the coastal areas of Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Sanur etc.
Bali offers such a huge variety, which should suit most people if not all, so where do you stay and why?
