Yes it happened in Bali and may happen again . Unfortunately it is a part of life we have to deal with. The next attack could be here in Australia or Fiji or England or anywhere in the world. Bali is safer than some countries now only becase it happened there fairly recently . The Balanise have taken very strong prevention measures to stop it reoccuring but they know as well as anyone that in the end they are only provideing a deterence not a absolute solution. So unless you wish to stay at home and not travel at all then you have to accept that it could happen and hope that it does not.
I dont mean to sound harsh or rude its just that the purpose of terrorism is to create unreasonable fear and to give in to that is to surender to the terrorist.
Bali is safer now than when I started going to it 30 yrs ago and in my opinion safer than than some tourist area here in Australia
So go and enjoy yourself and have fun with your family.
