Anyone considering a bike tour in Bali cannot go past Bike Baik. We had a wonderful two hour downhill ride through villages and rice fields. The tour started with a walk through a spice plantation and morning coffee, then on to Kintamini for breakfast overlooking the lake at Mount Batur. The tour concluded with a very delicious Balinese meal at a traditional Balinese compound/house.
A highlight of the bike ride was the appearance in every village of the local children, who called out, and the bolder of whom wanted to slap hands as we passed. Along the way the tour guide explained rice growing, and at one village we stopped by the village temple and meeting hall for refreshments and a detailed description of village life.
The whole tour was well run with a number of guides riding with us and a van always near by to transport anyone unable to ride the full distance.
We were picked up from our hotel in Ubud and it was one of the best days we have spent in Bali. The Bike Baik web site is balibike.com or email bikebaik@yahoo.com
