family of 2 adults and 3 children aged 4,13,17(now).Our first visit to bali was in 2005 and stayed at the Dynasty after recommendations and reviews that we had been reading on this site and friends.For our first visit to the isle of smiles it was certainly the hotel to stay at.We have been 2 more times staying at Dynasty and Bali Gardens on these occassions.We have now booked for our 4th trip in april may 2008 but for something different we are staying at the Febris in a family room which will accommadate all of us in the one room.
For your first visit i would certainly go to the Dynasty as there is plenty for you and the kids to do.The kids club looks great and the staff are fantastic.Our girls loved the fact that they could order room service and order from around the pool just by holding up a flag.One of the things that we used to do was settle the bill every 2-3 days so that you did not get a nasty shock at the end of the trip.It can get a bit expensive if you don't watch it.
Our first trip cost us about $4000 + spending money but(we budgeted for $200 per day) over 11 days but that was because we had paid for transfers etc through the TA.We do not do that anymore We get a taxi from the airport which is a lot cheaper and organise any tours and attractions over there which can save you a lot of money.
