I had four men's suits made up in April 2007. I used Bali Brumby (down a laneway near the "slingshot" on the main drag through Kuta) for two and Merry's Collection (in Legian, on Padma Utara (I think) down about 500m from Hotel Padma) for two. You will find better instructions on how to get there (and telephone numbers etc) if you look in the BTF archives. A two piece men's suit of good quality wool/cashmere was $A160 at Bali Brumby and $A115 at Merry's Collection (these prices may have reduced with the exchange rate). There was no difference in quality - absolutely none. In fact, the suits could have been made by the same person. The price difference may be because of location (rent probably higher in Kuta). The service at both places was good (and Putu, at Bali Brumby, is a real character - a very nice man). Both shops are airconditioned. You need to leave at least three clear days for completion and I would recommend four as some times things don't go entirely to plan. I was very happy with all four suits. The workmanship was great (my wife's opinion as well, and she actually knows what she's talking about) and, just as important, they look fantastic. Regards, Luke.
