HI folks,Home now from a 15 day stay at the Puri Raja ,had a great time relaxing by the reception end pool found it to be the best end to grab a lounge and even at the bar end pool there were no reports of lounge hogs.
Rating for the Raja 9/10
staff were great, the way they do the breakfast was good by way of taking your order at the table and serving it to you within 5 minutes stops all the hassle of having to wait for toasters and standing in line for your yummy banana pancakes we found it a great way to start the day.
We normally travel in September as the weather is a bit cooler but this time in November it was more humid than sun hot , buuuuut the Binnies were still Dingan as usual
The money went a lot further , were getting on average 8.2 and no problems with Kodak shops changing it for you .
We like to stay up that end of Legian and on the beach no hassling from hawkers at all.Tiduk mekasih! Ma'af is all you need to say softly and they get the message, and when you go back and see them on your last day and start handing all of your spare rupes to them they really spin out and you feel good about it as well.
Met some really nice people from the Forum about the place Dennisc staying at the Puri Raja,Smudge for the first time and s&s of course we have been 10 times to Bali and was not aware of the work that Smudge puts in to help the village areas with Medical & injury aid and supplies and of course the travellers that help him with donations must not go unrecognized so all keep it going.
Places we ate at
Uncle Norms: Still a fave clean, cheap ,tasty and cold Bloody Binnies

Ours: Recommended by Dennisc to us Buttefly prawns Yum Yum cold beers ,fun staff and cheap.

Goshas : Dearest meal we had about $25 aus for 2 but worth it for the seafood selection cold beer and service.

Yutz's : best chicken cordon bleu in Bali very cheap icy beers large only when we were there but hey share it , wosrst part we had to wait but our fault should have booked but there are plenty of places in that street to sit and have a coldie while waiting. In that street is Fying Piano the Casa etc.

Zanzibar on the beach to me not that startling felt like i was on a sheep carrier which is probably why the food was cold and the binnies hot oh well might have been an off night for them (not dear)

Corner bar next to the Puri Raja for a quick nasi and mei goreng excellent for about 20.000 rup

apache bar: OK only

Mamas: now i had a pork nuckle had to share it that big oh you just have to go have one about 72,000 rup worth every little coin fave of the euros.

Jimmys bar: in Sanur were invited to an expats BBQ they flew in the steak (believe it or not in hand luggage 40KG split)what a day and night can't tell you anymore forgot except it was a wet day .

High lite:we being in our 50s headed for the Bounty Night club(dragged by wife kicking and screaming)about 10:30 arrived just when Bali starts to crank, gets there and sits down to watch a live band enjoy a Binnie or 2 or 3 each, then she says daughter to her to get dad on the 2 for 1 jam jars so we go for a green one each still got my binnie getting through both enjoying the local band put in a request for smoke on the water best guitar work i've heard for that song apart from deep purple the guy blew it away! any how got through our jars and missy goes for another color, and i'm starting to think about what color it is going to come up like but soldiered on for a few more, then she says we now have to go look at the rest of the entertainment,at which point i'm becoming crosseyed,so we made it to the top of the stairs where the noise was becoming like we are about to take off in a jumbo back home,so i look around the corner and are confronted by about 500 schoolies all dancing ,singing, bopping slurring and generally having a great time, so here i am up on the top stage amongst it all sloshing it with them, had to laugh on young un had to have a double take at us meaning to say what the hell are you 2 doin here, but they were all great and made us feel one of them (young)they were really great but i said to them with all these chicks here why are you dancing with the blokes and they say cause chicks cost money hadto laugh!!

Anyway at 2:30 made our way back to the hotel partlt in A taxi and the other 25 metres took half an hour with 1 step forward 2 back
next day: missed it all,yes everything.

all in all had a really great time again Bali really has that relaxing affect on you ,so to all the people we met take care and hope to see you there again one day.

REMEMBER A DAY WITHOUT LAUGHTER IS A DAY WASTED
