We stayed there 4 years ago and really enjoyed it. At that time you had to take your own drinking water and there was no shops in Amed. Don't know if thats changed or not as Amed really is a sleepy little village. Also the rooms had traditional doors which was nice but they didn't have normal locks on them, so they were bang, bang, bang all night. That might also have changed also. The views were stunning.
