Stayed there last year.
Rooms are basic but clean and have aircon, fan, good bathroom, don't think there was a fridge in the room, great views over Lipah bay. Not many rooms so you won't be crowded. It has a small pool but it's enough for getting wet and having a float. Breakfast was good and staff and owner efficient and friendly.
Cross the road to the beach but you'll have to walk down the road to hire snorkeling gear from somewhere like Coral View. Best snorkeling off the beach and paddle towards the point.
Get up early because if you get a clear sunrise you'll see Lombok. You'll also see the fishing boats coming in which is a great sight (you'll hear them in the early hours leaving as well). Wander down to the village near the Life in Amed.
This time of year might be greener then when we were there. They grow corn and other crops on the hillsides whereas when we were there it was pretty dry and hot.
The Bayu is good value. There's a discount if you book 6 months in advance. No ATM there (didn't see any anywhere else either) so take rupiah (small denominations).
