Recently used card at Matahari, Buccheiri Shoes and Centro having done so on previous trips and never a problem.
I always let my bank know my travel dates and details before leaving home.
Arrived home on 30 Oct and received my statement for 9/10/07 to 8/11/07 and found it all OK with the above purchses on it.
I have not used this card since so when I received the next statement 9/11/07-9/12/07 I was shocked to find amounts totalling over $700-00 downloads of music on the internet.
I have never used any internet based music sites or similiar only using the airline internet sites.
I was surprised that the bank didn't contact me for these continuous amounts from Emusic only although it did happen from 23/11/07 up to 8/12/07.
Bank said to investigate it takes 3 weeks to 3 months of which I now have to pay the amount owing or otherwise be charged interest. They will refund me once they work out I was responsible for the downloading.
I cannot definately say that it was from Bali and if it was you would think that they would put the money to better use. Anyhow it has made me realise how easy it is for fraud to occur and how the banks really have their work cut out for them to stop it.
So I suggest if you do take your card make sure you tell your bank and also keep watching what appears before you receive the statement!
Sorry to have my gripe but I just wanted you to be very alert, have a wonderful holiday in Bali.
