hello, well just returned from the land of many smiles and u look my shop.
trip over adelaide virgin blue to melbourne on time and courtious. got to melbourne for the garuda counter what a line up past the counters into the other terminal almost into the domestic ( well ) plane full trip over unevenful staff of garuda extremely pleasant and wainting to do everything for you .
airport bit of a wait due to 4 planes landing at once. turned on the mobile phone expecting to be able to text home guess what no international roaming said a few explisitives at optus as had changed from prepaid to cap plan and was assured that i would be able to call aust in bali from phone with all connected.
voa paid and off to taxi counter to get cab to second home in bali...pelangi in seminyak.
staff always friendly room exellent clean comfortable. passed on the welcone drink but the swim in the pool refreshing.

headed into mataharis in kuta on the last shuttle for a sim card to keep in contact with the kids at home (teenagers, last time went to bali lost the dog, killed the fish and broke her foot), all fixed back in taxi for dinner in seminyak. Went to find phone to text family and you guessed it phone gone, not a happy chappy, after not having international roaming and getting credit 50k rupiah phone gone. think it fell out of bag getting out of taxi in the street to hotel. report loss to hotel staff who call taxi company and know the taxi number offer a reward but never turned up in fact taqxi companyh say that this driver has not come into work for the next few days.
(too busy using my credit i guess).

go to bed peed off but happy that back in the last of the golden smiles.

didnt do much all holiday except work on the tan and eat and drink bali moon cocktails.
good resturants ate at were indonational yummy chilli crab, nasi goreng.
good value lucky day in seminyak
resturants on double six road they were nice.
then off to sanur for4 7 days............
get there well what a culture shock that was so quiet compared to semminyak. room here at the besakhi beach resort was light at night asked for another room given this slightly darker but still light.
rained for 2 days while we were there and the confrence started so security had been stepped up.

went to safari park tiger was asleep but on return half hour later was lively and hubby sat with him to pat him, tried to bite him and took a swipe at him 2 handlers sitting near got a bit exciting at this.

best part is the orangutan TSUNAMI or nami very cute and cuddle it rained while we were there so nami cuddled up to him and wouldnt let him go stayed here with him for half hour waiting for rain to pass.

the food in sanur however is the reason to go there the small cafes on the beach frount very cheap . ate at mangos on the beach seafood dinner only 300,000 ruphia echange rate was 8000 per dollar.
best resturant find of the centuray thanks to elizabeth the sanur encyclopedia (even told us which room was best for darker at night).JAPUR they have the best rolled pork and beef in sauce to die for and the seafood cocktail yummy.

so in all the highlights ar4e the people the atmosphere am i bali sick now ....YOU BET...... next trip on the plan now unsure4 of when.
husbands highlight was going to the poolboys home and fishing with his uncle in candi dasa, which he enjoyed finally he found some where to catch fish.

the lowlight lost the phone, camera and got sick had come out in infected dermitist from washing powder used in the hotel sheets (have sensitive skin) cost 100 au for the doctor who gave me cream and oral drugs, same cream in APOTIK only 9000 RP, (went back to get more they wanted to charge me 40.000 rp.) a hotel employee asking husband to finance a pig farm for him said it would be only 2 thousand dollars i got a bit peed at this.( different hotel employee a bell boy).
