In response to your questions:
1. Ask your doctor regarding necessary injections for travel as yes you should get them to protect yourself! The doctor is the best person for this advice!
2. Yes Westpac cards do work, I myself do not hold a westpac account, but my mother used a Westpac savings card at atm when she holidayed with us this year. Visa and mastercards are widely accepted at restaurants and shopping malls.
3. Food - Eat freshly cooked hot food and you should not have a problem. Do not drink tap water, and do not brush your teeth with tap water. Ice is safe to have in your drinks, as it is made from bottled water. Avoid buffets which may have had food sitting in the trays for some time, I personally have never been one for buffets, no matter where they may be.
4. Regarding Hard Rock Hotel, I personally have not stayed there so can't comment.
