Your lucky ,you only came to visit and went home alive .I have to work here and dodge these carnivorous buggers .To the birds defense its breeding season and the boys are rather protective ,the nest boxes are a mumble of chirping unfeathered birdies . It reminds me of when i was last at Bali zoo .The Sumatran Tigers new home had just been completed i was very keen to get these guys out of the iron clad home as soon as possible .The urgency and passion was contagious ,oozing to the staff .The vet had blow darted the old girl and was waiting for her to drop so we could carry her to the new home .I was checking her over and descaling her teeth when she awoke rather smartly .I had a door way about 1 meter x 1 meter to jump backwards out of just in case she did awake.I sprung back only to hit 10 over egar faces of the boys all peering into the old enclosure to see what this crazy Aussie was up to.One boy had huge earings the size of NZ 50 cent piece lugged in his lobes .I hit the door way at such a speed and desire not to get bitten i pushed all the faces attached to bodies of course out the door like one had turned the fire hose on .Blood every where .They all had thought the Tiger had bitten me ,i knew not me , but could not be sure It all happen so fast . Long story short i had ripped his ear lob e off just about .Hes fine , im fine .More to the point mummy & Daddy Tiger are fine and they have a beautiful home now .The zoo now has a new vet who is very good and knows the right dose to give .The last one read the book upside down .It was nice to see you at the Peel Zoo yesterday.Sorry about the buzzard ,come cockatoos .If anyone is from this site and dose pass by to Peel Zoo please make your selves known ,love to hear your thoughts or tales .The kettles always on .
