To me, Ku De Ta is more non traditional.
Its much larger. You can eat inside the main restaurant, outside on the decking or eat in the inside/outside area on the left, facing the water. Larger open air secti0n in the middle.
Service, food, and atmosphere are all high standard, prices reflexx.

Both are beachfront establishments.

La Lucchiola is a little more north. The building is tradional Balinese style. The level of service is fantastic, food delicious and prices similar to Ku De Ta.
I would book early and choose a downstairs table or upstairs along the edge. Some of the tables along the back can be very hot. (We found the heat of the electric light added to the high temps/high humidity.

Why not book a night at one, then try the other another day?
Even pre and post!
Easy to find a reason to eat somewhere special!

For somewhere special, I also like to drive up to GWK Cultural park and eat at deMiMidi. The restaurant has a view over Jimbaran Bay, the airport, Benoa Harbour, Tuban, Kuta, Legian, Seminyak and beyond.
If you plan to get there about 6pm, you can watch the sunset and the lights of Bali come on.
Maybe for another occasion??
