have split up with the wife now in Australia, but I can't comment if the place has gone downhill or not, but there is a lot of uphill/downhill work to get in and out of the hotel! So if you don't like lots of steps then it probably isn't for you. There is a rocky beach outside.
Life in Amed is the only hotel in Lean beach, is on the flat and has a sandy beach outside. It's a 10 minute walk to Lipah Beach which has the most hotels. There is a small shop across the road and a restaurant called Sails about 5 mins away on the way to Lipah.
The owner of L in A is an English woman who lives in San Fransisco, but the staff keep the place in good nick when she's away.
