in Sanur every year since '97. We prefer the slower pace and I think the beach is nicer, but that is just my opinion.
We usually stay up around the northern end near Bonsai Restaurant. They do good lobster Thermidor, haven't really tried Lobster anywhere else. Lots of places to eat along the beachfront and also along Jl Danau Tamblingan. The road that runs parallel to beachfront.
We enjoy eating at Gazebo(on the beach), Bonsai, JJ's (on the street above), Lazer Sports Bar, Zoo just to name a few and also The Beach Cafe. You will never be short on choice.
Hardy's supermarket is good for buying drinks,snacks etc to keep in room. Plenty of markets and good boutiques for shopping or just grab a taxi into Kuta/Legian/Seminyak. Cost around 60000rp into Kuta from Sanur.
Check out the new Safari Park and also Bali Zoo both good value. Am sure you will get many more suggestions.
