I think the upstairs are more private, but the comment about downstairs veranda is a fair call too. Had many drinks with others on these said verandas. The only advice i would give you is try to stay away from the pool with the bar. Not that i was in a room near the pool, but I was in the pool on many nights till the early hours of the morning and know people staying there can complain. Sheesh, we were only having a pool party and everyone was on holidays ?????
Oh .... when i was there in november the rooms on seminyak side were experiencing sewerage trouble and some people moved to the kuta side.
