La Luciola is fabulous however, it is so dark that you cant read the menu. The waiters carry around little torches so you can see.
For a very special occassion I could recommend Mandira Cottages. It is right on the beach and they set up your own private gazabo with candels everywhere. Absolutely spectacular. Of course you would have to organise in advance.
There are many restaurants along the beach, another one that comes highly recommended is Zanzibar.
Or one of my favourite places is Ketapat. Unfotunately not on the beach, though you could go to the beach before hand. Once again I would recommend Mandira Cottages. They have a lovely bar overlooking the beach and have a lovely band playing. Very romantic. Ketapat has magnificant food, mostly indonesian (great menu)and little private huts that you dine in. Fairy lights and candels everywhere, you can't go wrong.
Mandira Cottages is very close to Puri Raja. And Ketapat is in Legian St about half way to Kuta. Zanzibar is in Seminyak.
